On Thursday, January 26, 2012 the Rochester City School Board votes on a condom distribution policy for students. New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms stands with several Rochester-based organizations in expressing our opposition to the proposed policy.

Rochester Considers Condoms for Kids |

The Rochester School District is considering a proposal to use taxpayer dollars to distribute condoms to students in grades 7-12 – without parental notification or consent. The proposal was suggested by the Monroe County Health Department and the Metro Council for Teen Potential due to the high rate of sexually-transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancies among city youth.

NYCF Opposes Sex Education for Elementary School Students |

STATUS: NYCF was successful in stopping this bill in the Senate Education Committee on March 29, 2011. The bill is going nowhere this legislative session.
New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms (NYCF) remains strongly opposed to this bill that would mandate sexual education for students as young as six-years-old. The bill paves the way for Planned Parenthood's condoms-and-contraception instructon in public schools.
