You have to give Onondaga County Legislator Marty Masterpole credit for one thing, he doesn’t give up easily. Three times he’s pushed for a proposal to allow Off-Track Betting (OTB) in Onondaga Country and three times he’s failed. Masterpole tried for a fourth time last week.

It is believed that a resolution asking the New York State Legislature to change current law and permit Off-Track Betting (OTB) in Onondaga County will appear before the Onondaga County Legislature on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. On April 5th, under a shroud of secrecy, Onondaga County Chairman James Rhinehart (R-Skaneateles) and County Legislator Marty Masterpole (D-Syracuse) schemed to bring a vote allowing Off-Track Betting into Onondaga County before the County Legislature.
