A number of special interest groups, including our ministry, sponsor a lobbying day in the State Capitol. This week it was the Empire State Pride Agenda’s turn (ESPA). ESPA is the largest gay rights groups in New York. Their goal is to promote and pass legislation that advance the gay agenda.

The first of these is “same-sex marriage.” In June 2007 ESPA successfully lobbied the Assembly to pass a bill that would legalize the union of two men or two women. NYCF was successful in blocking their attempts to get the Senate to pass this bill last year, but they are back, and we are fighting the battle all over again.

“Same-sex marriage” is really an impossibility. Marriage was created by God, and no one including the New York State Legislature has the authority to change it. Marriage is and always will be the union of a man and a woman.

God’s Word states in Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Rev. Motley has said, “When I started this ministry over 26 years ago, never in my wildest imagination would I have predicted that we would have to fight to defend the definition of marriage, but here we are. It shows how far we have fallen away from God.”

Please lock arms with NYCF and help defend the sanctity of marriage. Contact your State representatives and remind them that marriage is the union of a man and a woman!
