Racism
by Tom Stiles

When I was a boy in Sunday School, I was taught: “Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves all the children of the world.”

Apparently Senator Barack Obama’s pastor missed that lesson. Recent revelations of the pastor’s sermons and commitment to Black theology have injected race into the Presidential campaign.

I grew up in Flint, Michigan and attended an inner city high school. I personally know the feeling of being treated with disrespect just because of the color of my skin. I didn’t like it then, and I don’t like it now. Racism should have no place in the life of the believer.

The Word of God says, “God so loved the world [that includes all races], that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever [red, yellow, black or white] believeth in him should have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

This is why New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms is working to build a coalition of Christians of all colors to stand together to defend our freedom.

Recently, Duane invited a group of black and Hispanic pastors to join him and Jason in the Capitol for the day. These men represent thousands of churches.

They specifically talked to the Legislative leaders about defending traditional marriage and stopping the advance of the “same-sex marriage” bill being considered in the Assembly once again. Both Republican and Democrat leaders were impressed.

Together we can do much more than we ever could separately. It is time for Christians to show the way to racial reconciliation. Let’s love our brothers and sisters!
