The Christian Voice in Albany

Rev. Duane Motley

Founder and Executive Director of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, Ltd. (NYCF)

Founder and President of New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation, Inc. (NYFRF)

In the Spring of 1982, Rev. Motley started NYCF to monitor and lobby New York State government in three areas: religious freedoms and liberties, moral values, and family issues. In 1990 he founded New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation (NYFRF) to educate Christians on legislation before state and federal government in these same three areas. NYFRF accomplishes its educational goals by publishing the monthly newspaper, Freedoms’ Alert, and furnishing speakers for Churches, Pastor’s meetings and other public forums.

Duane and his wife, Nancy, have been married 46 years. They have a son, a daughter, two foster sons, three grandsons, and a granddaughter. Duane holds a B.S. in Physics and Math, M.S. in Instrumentational Sciences, Bachelor in Theology, and a LLD. in Humanities. For 13 years, he worked as a Research Engineer for Eastman Kodak, before God called him to serve full-time in ministry.

Duane left Kodak to serve on the staff of his home church, First Bible Baptist, Rochester, NY. Previous to this, in 1966, the Motley family was one of three, founding families that started the church. During the five and a half years that Duane served on the pastoral staff, he organized and directed North Star Bible Institute and served as business manager. A religious freedoms, court case, between First Bible Baptist Church and the state of New York, revealed the need for Christians to have a lobbyist before State government.

Responding to the need, Duane started NYCF and became one of over 2,200 registered lobbyists in Albany. He is the only one representing the Judeo-Christian sector before NY State government. During each, two-year term, legislators introduce 15,000 to 22,000 pieces of legislation. Duane and the NYCF staff review and monitor each bill, protecting your freedoms. Duane works diligently to inform and educate legislators and their staffs on the Christian viewpoint and to educate Christians on legislative issues of concern.
