LGBT Bullies Pro-Family Candidates PDF Print E-mail

I’ve noticed a disturbing trend.  Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) activist organizations are aligning with the State Democratic Party to bully pro-family candidates into silence.

Case in point is a recent attack on the Republican candidate for Attorney General, Dan Donovan.  Donovan supports marriage between a man and a woman, and has acknowledged that he would uphold the law of the land. New York State Law does not recognize same-sex marriage, so Donovan’s stance is a threat to gay marriage advocates.

Attorney generals can recuse themselves from certain cases and seek outside counsel for a variety of reasons. The practice is standard, for example, where there is a conflict of interest. In a recent debate, a Democratic candidate for Attorney General, Eric Dinallo, said there are “just certain things I will not do,” and declined to elaborate.

So let me get this straight, the Democratic Party is okay with a candidate for the Office of Attorney General who says that in certain cases he will not uphold New York State Law, but they are opposing Republican Dan Donovan who says he will uphold the law.

It's not just the GOP's candidate for Attorney General that is being bullied, either.  The Republican candidate for State Comptroller, Harry Wilson, is receiving similar treatment for his support of marriage between a man and a woman.

New Yorkers should choose law, over lawlessness, and never fear the schoolyard bullies throwing thier weight around New York politics.
