Passiveness? Apathy? Carelessness?
Too often these words echo through the highways
and byways of New York State. Freedoms, once taken for granted, are
challenged with malicious regularity. Since legislation is robbing
citizens of their liberties, they can no longer sit idle and balk at
the prospect of involvement.
New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms (NYCF)
is a vehicle through which concerned citizens can exercise their
rightful voice in determining the future of New York State. Religious
freedoms and moral values are being challenged on every front. NYCF
is determined to insure that they remain intact.
How can we keep our freedoms intact?
Preserving these freedoms can only be accomplished
through direct and forceful entry into the legislative process. This
requires each person being registered to vote, informed on the issues
and the candidates' position, and voting in every election.
How many bills could directly
affect my religious liberties?
Legislators introduce over 15,000 bills in each
legislative sesson. Approximately 1,000 of them become law. 300 to
400 directly involve issues relevant to the religious and
conservative community. Legislation has seriously affected moral
standards and religious liberties since America's inception. Much of
this legislation is passing into law unnoticed and unscathed.
Is it too late to reverse this trend?
Christians have been silent and labored on the
defensive too long. Now, as never before, intolerable situations are
emerging to the forefront. They demand that Christians be attentive
and on the offense..
How can this trend be stopped?
These trends can be successfully abated through a
variety of channels.
How can I help this process?
NYCF's, statewide network of followers stay
informed through the monthly tabloid, Freedoms'
Alert. The Freedoms' Alert publsihes voting records
and articles that provide the reader with information necessary to
evaluate their legislator's performance and suggest action plans.
Also, while the legislature is in session NYCF publishes the Freedoms' e-Alert each Friday.
The Freedoms' e-Alert will keep you up to date on the important issues at that time. You may be asked
to contact your NY Senator, Assemblyperson or Governor about an important piece of legislation that either
needs to be stopped or advanced. You may request to be placed on the Freedoms' e-Alert e-mail list by
sending an e-mail to NYCF with your name,
address, and telephone number as the message.
Will these channels be effective?
These methods will help NYCF become a viable and
influential force. NYCF will have a full-time staff member in Albany
to supply information on pertinent, legislative activities. This
supply of information will ensure that problem legislation be met
with INSTANT ACTION.
