Legislature Weighs Broad New Power for the Executive

We are learning everyday about things contained in the Governor’s Budget proposal. One new thing we learned about this week is that, if approved as is, the Governor would have new power to move money among agencies outside the state’s normal budget process.
The numbers are in and gay “marriage” is not the economic engine that many advocates predicted it would be. The New York Daily News is reporting that according to State Health Department records:

As part of the health care mandate, beginning next year any organization that offers health insurance to employees will be forced to cover contraception, sterilizations, and abortifacients -- no matter what their objections. This is not only an attack on the consciences of employers and employees, but a direct attack on religious freedom. This mandate must be stopped.
